Course Description:

The Skills Labs are designed to create an environment for students to receive intense one-on-one tutorial instruction in tuning, repairs, regulation and all related piano skills. Students will receive bench and at-the-piano assignments, and will be individually coached by their instructors to practice developing skills, increase their depth of knowledge from preceding coursework, and extend that knowledge base.

There is a required Skills Lab section in every quarter. In Quarter I, Skills Lab commences at week 6, after Woodworking, and is devoted to tuning skills only. In Quarters II and IV, Skills Lab is entirely devoted to tuning skills. In Quarter III, however, there is a mix of tuning, repair, and regulation topics.
